Care and Feeding for Teapots
So, you've adopted a fine teapot and you've just brought it home. You want to have a spot of tea, so here are a few things to think about:
1. Waverly ceramic teapots are not intended to be placed on a stove or hot surface. Heating the water to make tea is done outside the pot and gently poured into the pot.
2. Even the strongest ceramic teapot is susceptible to thermal shock, so temper your pot by running hot tap water through it for about a minute to gently raise the body temperature and begin a subtle expansion that comes when ceramic material is heated. It's like giving your baby a warm bath and toweling off its bottom. Then start making tea. Remember. Temper, temper. Having tea is a civilized occasion.

3. Pour using both hands. Please keep a finger on the lid when you pour. There is no emergency room that I'm aware of for broken teapot lids.
4. Two little words: tea cozy. It keeps a nice pot of chamomile hot for the better part of a morning.

Cheers. All the best to you. Paul
